Have a great long weekend. 2.16.17

We potty trained Jay this week! He was so excited to win his favorite little toy after he went potty enough times.

What are you up to this weekend? After a bbq with some friends tonight, we have my in-laws coming into town again. It’s always such a treat to have them here. We might try out a new (to us) ice cream shop in town, go bowling, and maybe a farmers market. We’ll see! I love a long weekend for the extra time we get to spend with each other. I hope you have a great one and get a little time to rest and relax!

The key to being a great listener. I have a friend who’s a really great listener, and I’ve always wondered what it was about her that made her so easy to talk to. This is absolutely it! A golden bit of advice.

If you’ve read about hygge and enjoyed it, you might also enjoy this book A friend recommended it to me and I’m dying to read it.

I’m going to make this recipe next week. We love any kind of Indian food (we even just got Indian food for Valentine’s Day!), and the fact that you can cook it in the slow cooker makes it even better.

THIS is an amazing article. There’s been so much talk about the incident in the school in Florida on Wednesday. The whole situation is devastating and scary, and so heartbreaking for all of the families involved. The article gives solutions on 10 things we can do today, from preventing an incident like this from happening in the future. I love that it gives us the control, so we don’t have to be scared and helpless.

I loved this list of 9 things to do with your toddler everyday.

We made these Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie bars this week. They were really really good. I’m embarrassed to tell you how many I ate, haha.  I’m just going to tell you that between Nick and I, the pan was gone by the end of day 2.

With my in-laws coming into town, I’ve been brainstorming ways to make them feel more comfortable and at home at our place. I loved these tips.

Target has a new line of clothes. And I’m losing my mind over how perfect everything is. The whole line is very reminiscent of stuff you would find at Madewell, just way more affordable.

I just borrowed this book and am so looking forward to reading it. I’ve heard great things, and I think it addresses a huge problem in our culture right now.

I really enjoyed this secret tip for delicious lunches at home.
