The $7 beauty product that makes me feel indulgent

Each year for Christmas I always end up asking for the same two things. Beauty products and books. This year I was eyeing this Mario Badescu Facial Spray. Nick got it for me, and its given me even more joy than I expected, as funny as that sounds referring to a facial spray, haha.

A strange thing happens every time I put it on though. Because its a “luxury” product and not a necessity, it makes me feel so special applying it. I usually spray it on after I’ve completed my makeup, to add a dewy finish to everything.

It brightens my day and helps me feel luxurious and special. If $7 can help achieve that for me, that is a $7 I will always be willing to spend on my beauty routine (plus the bottles seem to last forever.)

Do you have a beauty product that makes you feel extra special? A cream, lipstick, foundation, face wash, anything?

What’s your favorite podcast?

What’s your favorite podcast? Are you more into self-help podcasts? Funny Podcasts? Mystery podcasts?

I didn’t even know what podcasts were until my friend Elyse introduced me to them in the summer of 2016. I had a 4 hour ride home from Albuquerque, NM where I was visiting her for a girls weekend, to Amarillo, TX (where Nick and I were living at the time). She showed me a really funny podcast called The Sporkful, and that was the beginning of the end for me. A love affair with podcasts was born.

I’ve always been a self-help junkie, so you’ll find a lot of those in my list. Here are a few of my current favorites:

  1. Bold New Mom-introduced to me by my awesome friend Katie. This podcast is like listening to a really, really good therapist talk with you for an hour. Jodi Moore, the host, is inspirational, bold yet gentle, and so wise.
  2. Happier-this podcast is done by Gretchen Rubin, the bestselling author of the book, The Happiness Project. It is such a fun, light podcast to listen to, I look forward to it every week. Gretchen hosts it with her sister Elizabeth and they talk about simple ways to bring more happiness into your life.
  3. Super Soul-Oprah runs this podcast and these interviews and they are amazing. They cover such a wide range of topics and are always so interesting and thought-provoking. And who doesn’t love Oprah?! I’ve been a huge fan since I used to watch her talk show after school everyday in middle school. She gets better and better every year.

Now it’s your turn, I need to hear your favorites!
