7 of our favorite restaurants in Utah County right now

Nick and I would definitely consider ourselves foodies. We love to find good places to eat, with awesome food, and just enjoy the atmosphere and being out together.  Although in this phase of life,  Chick-fil-A is probably our most frequented restaurant as a family (can you beat a good play place??), we do love to go out and enjoy a unique, delicious meal every once in a while. Here are seven of our favorite places in Utah County that we find ourselves wanting to go back to, time and time again.

Hruska’s Kolaches-one of my good friends introduced me to these a few years ago. Since then, we’ve found kolaches in every state we’ve lived in. They are awesome. They are dough filled with meat/cheese/veggies or something sweet. These ones are a super substantial size and pretty well priced. (Provo, UT) (casual)

Cubby’s-if you haven’t been you need to go! This one is my all-time favorite. They have salads, burgers and sandwiches. The tri-tip steak salad is my favorite! And I’m not much of a salad person. If you’re more into burgers, the Dragonslayer is amazing. And the true mark of a great restaurant, their kids meals are awesome too! (Lehi, Provo)(casual)

Midici-I had the best pizza I’ve ever tasted outside of Italy here. I always order the Margherita, its basic and amazing. They have tons of other options too. They also serve appetizers, salads, Italian sodas, and a Nutella calzone, that looks like what dreams are made of! (Orem, UT)(casual)

Ginger’s Garden Cafe-I was introduced to Ginger’s by the same awesome foodie friend that introduced me to kolaches. It’s all fresh, delicious vegan/vegetarian food. I’m not a vegan or vegetarian, but I’m telling you, I crave that food so much! I dream about the falafel salad, and they always have the best soups and salads. (Springville, UT)(casual)

Slapfish– this fresh and tasty seafood restaurant is based out in Huntington Beach, CA. They’ve recently opened a couple of franchises in UT and I’m so excited about it! I’ve been there a couple times and always get the ultimate fish tacos, but I’ve heard the traditional lobster roll is amazing as well. (Lehi, UT)(casual)

Oteo-This was a new discovery for us. We just went there last week and are already dying to go back. Its a intimate and delicious Mexican restaurant specializing in tacos, sopes and empanadas. All of the flavors were beyond amazing, we are definitely heading back there soon. (Lindon, UT)(sit-down)

Bombay House-The best Indian food ever! Nick and I have been going here for years. It is our special occasion go-to restaurant. We were even there this Valentine’s Day! It has an intimate, cozy atmosphere with tons of little booths and the lights dimmed low. The food is ridiculously good. A couple of our favorites are the chicken tikka masala and the chicken coconut kurma. The garlic naan is so good, and if you’re looking for an appetizer go for the samosas. (Provo, UT)(sit-down)

Now, what are your favorites? Are we missing out on anything amazing??

Have a wonderful weekend! 3.2.18

How has your week been? Do you have anything fun going on this weekend? We’ve been living for the weekends lately, because Nick doesn’t have school or work (most of the time). We’re doing a little picnic and a park date with the boys this evening, which will be some much needed slow down time!

Here are some of my favorite links from the week…

If you have an instant pot you need to try this. Cook chicken from frozen to ready to eat in 12 minutes or less. This is the thing I use my instant pot for the most!

These marriage hacks are a really helpful and fun read. I used to do #4 about making a gratitude list, and swore by it. I need to get in the habit again.

This made me laugh. It happens to me all the time!

If you are in the market for an eyebrow brush, I got this awesome one off Amazon after losing my last one. Its so good! I’ve used some that are three times the price, but I surprisingly, liked this one the best.

A talk that I really enjoyed this week.

I loved these tips for a luxury trip to Rome on a budget. I took a trip with a girlfriend there last fall; we used most of these tips and the trip ended up being (relatively) very inexpensive.

Have you ever tried making kimchi? I haven’t, but this article really makes me want to.

Does anyone else have an unhealthy obsession with the idea of living in a camper van or airstream? Here are some amazing “house” tours of some if you do.

I think this children’s book is so beautiful, and its educational too, added bonus.

This is one of my favorite recipes to make; I’ve been craving it so much lately.

I hope you have a great weekend!
